Environmental engineering oversea course for undergraduate students
Educational Objectives
Environmental Engineering (EE) aims to train the students to be complex talents with knowledge of Environmental Microbiology, Principle of Environment Engineering, Water Pollution Control Engineering, Environmental Monitoring, Air Pollution Control Engineering, Treatment and Disposal Engineering of Solid Wastes, Environmental Impact Assessment, Industrial Wastewater Treatment Engineering and other Environmental Engineering knowledge and skills, can be engaged in the relevant departments and enterprises and institutions in teaching, scientific research, production and management aspects.
Cultivation Standard and Requirement
a) Master basic and professional knowledge of mathematics, natural science and engineering; able to apply the basic principles of mathematics, natural science and engineering science to solve complex engineering problems in the field of environmental engineering.
b) Design systems, units (components) or processes that meet specific needs to solve complex environmental engineering problems; able to incorporate innovation into the design processas well as consider social, health, safety, legal, cultural, and environmental factors.
c) Able to study complex environmental engineering problems based on scientific principles and methods, including designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and obtaining reasonable and effective conclusions through information synthesis.
d) Able to predict and monitor complex environmental engineering problems by using appropriate technologies, resources, modern engineering and information technology tools.
e) Able to analyze and evaluate the social, health, safety, legal and cultural impacts of environmental engineering practices and understand the corresponding responsibilities.
f) Able to understand and evaluate the impact of environmental engineering practices on the sustainable development of environment and society.
g) Have the humanities and social science quality, the social responsibility, able to understand and abide by the engineering professional ethics and norms in the environmental engineering practice.
h) Able to assume the roles of individual, team member or leader in a multidisciplinary team.
i) Able to effectively communicate with peers and the public on complex environmental engineering issues, including writing reports and design documents, presentation and response to instructions. And have a certain international perspective, can communicate with foreign experts.
j) Understand and master engineering management principles and economic decision-making methods, and can apply the principles and methods in a multidisciplinary environment.
k) Have the consciousness of independent and lifelong learning, and able to continuously learn and adapt to the future development of environmental science.
