Introduction:

My research focuses on bioremediation of soil and water, the interaction between soil microorganism, plant and geochemical cycles, as well as the development and utilization of microbial resources. I take special interest in microbial ecology of iron and manganese cycles, and the effects of metal oxides on heavy metals and organic pollutants in water-saturated soils and sediments. Most of the work involves pure cultures. Current ongoing projects includes the National Natural Science Foundation, Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation and Jiangsu Agricultural Industry Development Project etc. I teaches BSc and MSc courses, such as Resources, environment and sustainable development, Soil pollution and bioremediation, Geomicrobiology, Environmental Microbiology, Environmental protection, Scientific writing, most of them are given in English.
