Introduction:

Doctoral supervisor. Director of Municipal Engineering of Civil Engineering discipline. Currently associate dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. Member of Water Supply and Drainage Committee of Jiangsu Civil Society, member of Engineering Education Committee of China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association. Jiangsu Provincal Six Top Talent. Innovative Talent of "Lv Yang Jin Feng" in Yangzhou.

Prof. Cong has been engaged in teaching in colleges and universities for more than 30 years, and has been responsible for undergraduate courses of Water Resource Utilization and Protection, Water Supply and Drainage Pipeline Engineering, and postgraduate course of Water Body Restoration Theory and Technology. He jointly published 4 professional works and textbooks. His research interests include water quality improvement and water treatment technologies, water environment restoration, water supply and drainage system optimization, etc. Prof. Cong has made breakthroughs in the field of eutrophic water quality improvement and cyanobacterial water treatment. His original "pressurized precipitation technology for cyanobacteria separation and growth control", using micro-energy consumption physical methods to control and remove cyanobacteria, opens up a new direction of cyanobacterial water treatment, has remarkable technological and economic progress. It is identified by the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences as the international leading level, and has been applied in the cyanobacteria treatment of Taihu Lake, Chaohu Lake, and aquaculture water. Prof. Cong developed the "Water quality improvement for reservoir water sources based on the technique of water-lifting aerator", which filled the technical gap in China and applied to many water quality improvement projects of reservoirs. Prof. Cong has presided over 1 project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 sub-projects of National Science and Technology Major Project, 1 sub-project of National Science and Technology Support Program, and 3 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. He has published more than 40 scientific and technological papers as the first or corresponding author, has been granted 8 invention patents as the first inventor, and has won 2 provincial and ministerial Science & Technology Awards (one with first prize and one with second prize).
