1、Training objectives
The training objective of master of Engineering in the field of environmental engineering is to train high-level talents, who could develop a career on Ecological environment protection, Environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental industry, and construction administration department as applied, comprehensive and/or management employee.
2、Research direction
(1) Theory and technology of environmental pollution control. Mainly engaged in the research and development of environmental pollution process and control technology, including: water pollution process and control technology, air pollution process and control technology, soil pollution process and control technology.
(2) Environmental functional materials and environmental protection equipment. Mainly engaged in (1) the development of environmental functional materials based on organic solid wastes and inorganic minerals for environmental remediation. (2) Development of environmental protection equipment for engineering application.
(3) Solid waste treatment and resource utilization. Mainly engaged in (1) treatment and resource utilization of organic solid waste, including: pre-treatment, biological treatment, resource utilization, safety evaluation and other technologies. (2) The treatment and resource utilization of inorganic solid waste include: technology research in treatment technology, resource utilization, safety evaluation and other fields.
(4) Environmental assessment and planning management. This paper mainly studies environmental impact assessment technology, urban ecological construction planning, rational use of land resources, environmental capacity, total capacity control and total capacity distribution.
3、Length of study
The basic length of study for full-time Master students is 3 years.
4、Training mode and tutor guidance
The course adopts a combination of course learning, professional practice and dissertation. Curriculum learning, professional practice and thesis are equally important, which is an important support for the future career development of Engineering Master degree students. According to the source of students, two kinds of graduate management modes, full-time and part-time, are implemented.
5、Curriculum and credit requirements
Credit system shall be implemented for course learning and professional practice. The minimum total credit of the course is 32 credits (including 5 credits for practice activities). The course learning should be not less than 27 credits, and 16 class hours of course learning can be counted as 1 credit. The credit requirements for various courses are as follows: 7 credits for public courses (3 credits for political courses, 3 credits for English courses, 1 credit for engineering ethics); 8 credits for professional courses; and ≥ 11 credits for professional elective courses. Curriculum and credit requirements are shown in the Table 1.
6、Professional practice
Practice teaching is an important aspect in the cultivation of full-time Master degree postgraduates. The practice teaching time of postgraduates must be no less than one year during the semester.
